I have little patience with people who complain about getting older. Every day is a gift. In March of 2014 I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow for which there is no known cure. I was very sick at the time and was told that my life expectancy was 1 to 3 years. I embarked on an aggressive chemotherapy protocol and had a stem cell transplant in September of 2014. Nine years later, I continue to have maintenance chemo treatments every two weeks. I feel very, very lucky to still be in remission. I try my best to be grateful for every day. I have a wonderful husband and family including a grandson that I have been able to watch grow from a toddler to a terrific 10 year old boy. My friends are a constant source of support and love.
